This is the same painting as the last. First of three. First attempt to paint in many years. I submit this also in black and white not only because I find it pleasing, but also because of a dear friend that likes it. I happily dedicate this to my dear friend

I feel naked reading this. I know, and I really have to be honest and say that I did read this awhile ago. I didn't know then what to say. It seems you have the better of me. But in you, I have found such an impossible friend, now closer than I am to myself. I speak of you regularly, and with affection. And looking at these words, I bow my head. It is so wonderful to be thought of this way by anyone, and it makes my stupid head turn red with appreciation. You are never far from me, and never will be. You are here, right here, in my mind and my "heart". I believe in you, and see such beauty that there are no words big enough to describe it. Family is so very much what we make of it, and you are family. BFF, yes, and pinky swear, always hello.

I love candles too, and the very idea of them, but light them only when my significant other isn't home, he doesn't like them. I pinky swear for all my living life, until the earth swallows us.

We must make a case for candles.
I have never had the unfortune of those I love hating candlelight. I have actually had the misfortune of those I lived with loving it too much. It seemed catholic at the time. So I named every one, and prayed for their souls as they went out. Childish of me, really.
I will set you in a tree, if I can, to keep the earth away.
I hope you would do the same for me....

If it was left up to me, and if I ever by chance live by myself...I will have candles everywhere and incense...I love both equally! I love the exotic, sensual, romantic mood that they both create. No and I don't think you are childish one bit...I did light a candle the other day, and spoke to it..Its my Jessica candle and it smells of coffee which I love.

I now picture you this way, in a dreamscape. Bev surrounded by candles, and incense. Like a high priestess of ...something or other (we can fix that in the mix) ....it is all quite mad, what we are talking about. But I still find it wholesome and beautiful, nonetheless. Even nonbelievers must have their rituals, after all. Thank you for coming to my aid with that odd notion. Not just the speaking to candles, but the lifting off the ground. Thank you for joining me in my weirdness. We shall light candles, and speak their names softly. And I will raise you so high, that the earth will never take you for it's own. My friend. My ever present light.
